My panel members and I were awarded “Best Conference Presentation” for our research on how to bridge fields using a black princess at Northwestern University.

Research: Freddie Hendricks

My groundbreaking research on Fat Studies and Freddie Hendricks and the Youth Ensemble of Atlanta was presented at the Association for Theatre in Higher Education conference and the Midwest Popular Association conference.

CNN: Daughters of Legacy

I was selected to coordinate a workshop with young women for CNN’s special titled “Daughters of Legacy.” The workshop was facilitated by Attallah Shabazz and Sherri Poitier, the daughters of Malcolm X and Sidney Poitier.

I recently signed on as an author for "Music in American Life: An Encyclopedia of the Songs, Styles, Stars, and Stories that Shaped our Culture", contributing biographies for Beyonce, Brandy, and Lauryn Hill.
